Lallemand Animal Nutrition UK, the domestic arm of the Canadian multinational yeast and fermentation specialist Lallemand, has posted significant increases in profitability and turnover from its latest full year’s trading, a transformative period for the business.
The company made an operating profit of £3.06 million on revenues of £15.47m in the year to January 31st 2015, up from £1.61m and £12.09m in the previous twelve months. Shareholder funds at the yearend stood at £8.28m, up from £6.70m a year earlier.
Lallemand bought Microbial Developments in December 2012 for its expertise in bacterial lactic acid production and the Aviguard non antibiotic poultry heath product. In June 2014, Lallemand’s UK feed supplement and silage additive business Biotal was moved from Cardiff to the Microbial Developments premises at Malvern, with the newly integrated activities renamed Lallemand Animal Nutrition UK. The company has since invested in increasing production capacity at the Malvern base to meet growing demand across Europe for its portfolio of microbial products.
Director of strategic development and operations Tim Pollock says the business continues to develop its UK and European market share and sales volumes, while investing in a high level of research and development for new and updated products, processes and services.
