The Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board (AHDB) has appointed Matthew Catlin to the post of digital services director. In his new post, Mr Catlin will oversee the improvement of AHDB’s digital toolbox of technical and business resources, the online delivery of its latest research and the merging of the organisation’s virtual assets such as the sector-focused websites.
Mr Catlin has nearly twenty years experience in complex digital services in a variety of sectors and teams. He was previously the European head of digital at TUI travel, developing and implementing ecommerce strategy for brands including Thomson and First Choice. He has also held posts in digital services for Bayer CropScience, Jaguar Land Rover and VW Financial Services, among other companies. AHDB says that his appointment is the last in its series of high-level appointments.
AHDB CEO Jane King says: “Matthew’s appointment is very significant for the organisation as we rise to challenges and opportunities presented by technological innovation. Delivering the latest research, knowledge and tools directly to farmers in real time, whether they’re in the office, walking the fields or in the tractor cab itself, is what we need to be doing, and we are now better equipped than ever before.”
