Plant breeder Limagrain UK has promoted Les Daubney to the position of arable marketing director, in addition to his current role of cereals product manager.
The move follows the appointment of the previous arable marketing director, Lee Robinson, to managing director of the whole Limagrain UK business after Peter Snowden’s retirement last year (ATN September 5th 2014). Mr Daubney, who joined the company in 2006, has held a range of responsibilities within the marketing team and has first-hand experience of servicing both seed trade and farmer clients throughout the year.
“This is a really exciting time for plant breeding, as genetics become increasingly important on farm,” says Mr Daubney. “As a company owned by farmers, our focus is to continue to develop varieties that meet the needs of growers and industry. It is crucial that we are able to support all those involved in the seed business, from merchants to growers, to get the very best out of the products that we are bringing to the market place. This is an area that I will continue to lead and progress.”
