Produce Investments adds to daffodil footprint

Produce Investments, the AIM-listed company specialising in potato and daffodil bulb production and marketing, has expanded its footprint in Cornwall.

The Group’s Rowe Farming daffodil business in Cornwall, acquired in 2012, has now bought the assets of Andrew Farming based at Helston in the same county for an undisclosed sum. The deal brings over 40 new commercial daffodil bulb varieties and 90 smaller seedling varieties to the group.  Kevin Andrew joins the Rowe Farming management team.

"This acquisition enables Rowe Farming to offer a wider range of products and services to our customers,” says Rowe Farming managing director Rob Stacey. “We see opportunities in dried bulbs and specialist cut flowers, and the varieties we have acquired are extremely complimentary to our own. The acquisition represents a major investment in future daffodil flower and bulb production, underlying our continued commitment to the sector.”

A former Dalgety group business, Produce Investments owns the Greenvale AP integrated potato operation.
