Dr Susannah Bolton, head of research and knowledge transfer at AHDB Cereals and Oilseeds, has been appointed by the BASIS board to chair its FACTS committee. This body oversees the FACTS Scheme which sets training standards and accredits those involved in providing crop nutrition advice in the agriculture, horticulture and amenity sectors.
Dr Bolton replaces Geoff Dodgson, senior consultant at the strategic marketing agency Ware Anthony Rust, who has chaired the FACTS Committee for the past seven years.
Mr Dodgson has been appointed by the BASIS board to chair the newly-formed Professional Standards Committee. This will be responsible for the various codes of conduct that apply to the schemes operated by BASIS, as well as for investigating any claims that the codes have been breached.
“I am delighted that Susannah has accepted the invitation to chair FACTS and to join the BASIS Board,” notes BASIS chairman Chris Clarke. “Her broad experience in agronomy, science and knowledge transfer will be invaluable. I am also pleased that Geoff will remain on the BASIS Board given his experience of governance within a registered charity.”
