New agronomist at Germinal

Forage specialist Germinal has appointed grassland agronomist Daniel Loe as area manager for southern England, reporting to Germinal GB national agricultural sales manager Ben Wixey.

Mr Loe’s appointment strengthens the company’s GB agricultural sales team. He will provide the company’s merchant customers with essential technical assistance to support its forage crop range.

Mr Loe managed his family’s 5,000 acre livestock and arable farm in his native New Zealand before moving to the UK in 2012. He has worked as a forage agronomist for Mole Valley Forage Services for the past three and a half years, gaining FACTS and BASIS qualifications.

Commenting on his new job, Mr Loe says: “I am a great believer in the potential for livestock farmers to make more from home-grown forage. There is always a strong argument for maximising returns from forage, but in the current situation of volatile market prices, it is an absolute necessity for a great many businesses. In my experience, there is a lot that can be done on farms to improve production and utilisation of forage and I look forward in my new role to helping Germinal boost the prospects for livestock farming.”
